United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Alabama has been serving children and adults with disabilities for over 55 years. Our mission is to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. We serve all of Northwest Alabama including Colbert, Lauderdale, Franklin, Marion, Winston, and Lawrence counties.
We exist to give life without limits to people with disabilities.
Our services include our normal preschool services to children who have Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Spina Bifida, Down syndrome or Developmental Delays plus the following additional programs.

Speech Therapy Occupational Therapy
Cognitive Therapy Adaptive Equipment & Toys
Socialization
Parent Training
Therapy is done in lots of different settings: in the home, preschools & daycares, or at our facility in Sheffield.
All therapists are fully licensed and certified.
HEARTS Respite is a respite (sitter) program for families who have special needs individuals Of all ages. This program provides money to families to help pay for sitters. Please contact Gena Williams (gena@urpshoals.org) for more information or call her at 256-381-4310.
Wee Care (day care) is an all inclusive childcare program for all children no matter What their ability level is. There is a small fee for this service. Please contact us for more information.
